Jacques Meijer (1934, Delft, The Netherlands)

After his studies at the HBS and Royal Art Academy in The Hague, Jacques Meijer started to work as an independent (photo)journalist in 1955. His photographs are published in the World Press Photo Annuals and Fototribune, the leading magazine which he in 1965 became the publisher and editor of. In the 1970s he is producing black and white art house films, of which "Gerard Fieret, photographer" has been showed at Film International in Rotterdam and won awards at film festivals in Huy and Brussels. Since 1998 he mainly works on free productions, including exhibitions and book titles like "Golden Egg Circus", "Dancing Eggs", "Work in Progress: Dynamic Archives". His photographs are, among others, collected by and exhibited in Kunsthal Rotterdam, Fotomuseum Den Haag, FOAM Amsterdam, Witzenhausen Gallery Amsterdam, Arti & Amicitiae Amsterdam and De Hallen in Haarlem.

Since his solo exposition "Scheveningen 1955-1965" in Panorama Mesdag (28 March - 16 September 2009), Galerie 't Fotokabinet is proud to be his official representative. All of Meijer's work is available in or via the gallery, including his photobooks. Prices of limited edition prints (edition of 15) are € 550,- (included matting, framing and VAT).
